Organic binders for iron ore pelletization

Organic binders generally do not contain high quantities of silica and alumina and are burnt during pre-heating, contrary to bentonite clays commonly used in pelletizing iron ore for blast furnaces. Due to the need to process increasing volumes of low grade iron, interest in organic binders has increased lately.
